Job Description:
The Associate is an essential part of the daily operation of the Austin Music Co Store that helps ensure that the operation of the business runs smoothly. Working with the manger, owners, and other employees, the associate will be responsible for various day-to-day taskings at Austin Music Co. This position also provides the opportunity to implement creative ideas and has great potential for growth.
- The Sales Associate is a part-time position consisting of approximately 15-30 hours per week.
- Starting pay is $12 hour with growth potential
- Position to start immediately, with 14-day probationary period
- Hours are to be determined within the hours of operation (Mon-Sat, 11-7)
Job Duties:
- Provide excellent customer service in person, via phone, and electronic communications
- Maintain and track retail inventory in-store and online
- Create purchase orders as required
- Help coordinate lessons, make up lessons and videos between students and instructors
- Help maintain the Austin Music Co website and MyMusicStaff lesson attendance
- Maintain the greatest appearance and cleanliness of facilities and retail inventory
- Assist with public relations, marketing, and social media on personal platforms (5x per month)
- Work closely with the manager & owners to ensure student, parent, and teacher needs are met
· Occasional heavy lifting of packages, equipment and inventory
Skills/Qualifications:
- Outgoing and highly proactive – self starter!
- Organized and detail-oriented, follows-through with tasks
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable interacting with students, parents, teachers, and employees on a regular basis
- Comfortable working both independently and in a team setting
- Possesses cultural awareness and sensitivity
- Demonstrates sound work ethics, honesty and integrity
- Willingness to learn
- Music experience, including equipment knowledge is required
- Sales experience is highly desired, but not required
- Sales associate may also give music lessons during non-scheduled times
