Job Description:

The Manager is responsible for the total operation of the Austin Music Co store and ensures the operation of the business runs smoothly. Working with owners, while managing employees, the manager will be responsible for various day-to-day operations in accordance with the company handbook. This position also provides the opportunity to implement creative ideas and has great potential for growth within the company and community.


  •          The Store Manager is a full-time position consisting of 40 hours per week
  •          Starting pay is $18 hour with growth and salary potential
  •          Monthly bonus is 5% of net profits after 3 months vested
  •          Position to start immediately, with 14-day probationary period
  •          40 hours per week are required & spread within the hours of operation (Mon-Sat, 11-7)


Job Duties:

  •          Provide excellent customer service in person, via phone, and electronic communications
  •          Maintain and track retail inventory in-store and online
  •          Create purchase orders
  •          Manage Lesson program - coordinate lessons between students and instructors
  •          Maintain the Austin Music Co website and MyMusicStaff lesson portal
  •          Maintain the greatest appearance and cleanliness of facilities and retail inventory
  •          Assist owners with public relations, marketing, and social media
  •          Occasional heavy lifting of packages, equipment and inventory



  •          Outgoing and highly proactive – self starter!
  •          Organized and detail-oriented, follows-through with tasks
  •          Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  •          Comfortable interacting with students, parents, teachers, and employees on a regular basis
  •          Comfortable working both independently and in a team setting
  •          Possesses cultural awareness and sensitivity
  •          Demonstrates sound work ethics, honesty and integrity
  •          Willingness to train and mentor associates regularly
  •          Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office tools
  •          Music experience, including equipment knowledge is desired but NOT required
  •          Sales experience is highly desired, but not required
  •          Management experience is required
  •          Manager will not give music lessons
